Libraries, health centers, recreation centers, and houses of worship. All require design that is accessible, durable, and welcoming.

Mott Branch Library in central Toledo area is one of a series of impressive upgrades in the Toledo Lucas County Library system. We provided survey and design of sidewalks, curbing, and loading dock concrete improvements for this branch library. The scope of work included bidding, award, and inspection.

Toledo Lucas County Public Library

In recent years we have done work on several branches of the Toledo Lucas County Public Library as part of a major facilities improvement program. At the Lagrange Branch in Sylvania, we reconfigured the parking lot and engineered the expansion of the site into newly acquired adjacent vacant lots. Also in Sylvania, we provided civil design of a 21,600-square-foot library and book mobile support facility with a 190-stall parking lot. Work included storm and sanitary sewers, water main and fire protection, water quality infrastructure including separate detention systems: an underground chamber detention under the front parking lot, and a dry pond in the rear fitted between existing trees for a natural look.

Lewandowski Engineers provided engineering solutions to make this structure open to the community after years of disuse.

Cities of Toledo and Oregon

  • Boundary Dispute, 2006. The City of Toledo Law Department selected Lewandowski Engineers to prepare a survey defining the location of Duck Creek as it existed in 1857 as it relates to the City Boundary established in 1872. Lewandowski Engineers was selected for their expertise in large tracts and repository of historical records of conveyances in northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan. Survey records of Lewandowski Engineers date to 1833 and include the original US Government Surveys of the “Disputed Michigan Territory” as well as the first survey linking Port Lawrence and Vistula to form the City of Toledo.
